Apardion will arrange the weekly testing of your Alarm System in compliance with BS5839: Part 1. A different call point is tested each week to ensure there are no faults found through the entire system.
If the alarm system is monitored by an Alarm Monitoring Centre, our officer will call to take the system "off-watch" for test to prevent a false alarm and logs that signals are being received and monitored. Similarly in areas of high public traffic, the Grampian Fire and Rescue will be made aware of the upcoming test to prevent their response when it's not required.
A Fire Alarm Test Record Folder is kept on each site and is individual to that site. If there are any specific requirements e.g. electromagnetic door checks required in a specific building, these will be checked during your weekly test, and a suitable page be added to the folder on site. Duplicate records are kept in the Apardion office, so should anything happen to your files, there's a backup to hand.
In the event of any system fault, Apardion will contact the site manager to make them aware of the problem for immediate restoration and record maintenance action in the site folder
